Rātā Moehau
This rātā Moehau Datastore Group contains genomic data and metadata associated with the manuscript: 'Demographic history and genetic diversity of rātā Moehau (Metrosideros bartlettii; Myrtaceae), a critically endangered Aotearoa New Zealand endemic tree'.
You likely cannot see the data, as the dataset is set to "private". This is because Rātā Moehau are taonga (treasured) by Māori, the Indigenous people of Aotearoa New Zealand. All genomic data obtained from taonga species have whakapapa (genealogy that includes people, plants and animals, mountains, rivers and winds) and are therefore taonga in their own right. These data are tapu (sacred) and tikanga (customary practices, protocols, and ethics) determine how people interact with these data.
These data may be made available at the discretion of representatives of Ngāti Kuri, contact research@ngatikuri.iwi.nz to request permission, and contact Jessie Prebble PrebbleJ@LandcareResearch.co.nz to arrange accessing the data.
All scripts associated with bioinformatic analyses are available at our Rātā Moehau GitHub: https://github.com/GenomicsAotearoa/High-quality-genomes/tree/main/R%C4%81t%C4%81-Moehau.
