Data from a survey of tree seedlings growing epiphytically on tree ferns in alluvial terraces at Waitutu Forest, New Zealand. Seedlings were sampled in 2002 by Gaxiola, Burrows and Coomes (2008 Oecologia 155:325-335) following procedures described in that publication.
