Transgenerational effects of predation stress on prey survival, development and offspring sex ratio

Data associated with the paper: Wei, X., Shang, S.Q., Zhang, Z.Q. (2022) Transgenerational effects of predation stress on prey survival, development, and offspring sex ratio: an experiment on Tyrophagus putrescentiae and predator Neoseiulus cucumeris. Systematic and Applied Acarology 27(10): 1878–1887; https://doi.org/10.11158/saa.27.10.3

There are three spreadsheets: 1sexratio contains a table of sex ratios of three generations; 2developmentF2: contains the data of developmental times of the second generation; 3developmentF3 contains the data of developmental of the third generation.

In 2developmentF2 and 3developmentF3, there are columns: Egg (days), Larva (days), Protonymph (days), Tritonymph (days), total developmental time (days), and treatment. The former four columns present the length (days) of four immature stages.

For treatment column in 2developmentF2: “NN” presents the NN group: the individuals in this group did not have predation stress during either the first or second generation; “YN” presents the YN group: the individuals had predation stress during the first generation, but did not have predation stress during the second generation; “NY” presents the NY group: This is the opposite of the YN group. While the individuals of the NY group did not have predation stress during the first generation, they did have predation stress during the second generation; “YY” presents The YY group: the individuals of this group were given predation stress during both the first and second generations.

For treatment column in 3developmentF3: “NNN”, “YNN”, “NYN”, and “YYN” present 4 groups of the third generation (the third N is the same in all groups, indicating no predation stress was given during the third generation).
