Predation stress experienced as immature mites extends lifespan

Data associated with the paper Wei, X., Liu, J.F., Zhang, Z.Q. (2022) Predation stress experienced as immature mites extends lifespan. Biogerontology 10.1007/s10522-022-09990-x

There are five spread sheets: 1development: contains the data of development; 2reproduction: contains data of reproduction; 3lifespan: contains data of lifespan; 4lifespan&fecundity: contains data for lifespan in relationship to fecundity; and 5lifespan&bodylength: contains data for lifespan in relationship to body size (prodorsal shield length). In 1development, there are 7 columns: Egg (days), Larva (days), Protonymph (days), Tritonymph (days), total developmental time (days), gender, and treatment. The former four columns present the length (days) of 4 developmental stages. In 2reproduction, there are 5 columns: fecundity, oviposition period (days), treatment, pre-oviposition period (days), post-oviposition period (days). In 3lifespan, there are 4 columns: treatment, gender, lifespan (days), and Status. In column Status, 0 presents censored individuals while 1 presents existed ones. In 4lifespan&fecundity, there are 3 columns: fecundity, treatment and lifespan. In 5lifespan&bodylength, there are four columns: treatment, gender, body size (prodorsal shield length µm).

For treatment column in each spread sheet: “control” presents no predator; “immature” presents the immature stress group: the prey had predation stress only during their immature development; “ovi” presents the oviposition stress group: the prey in this group was given predation stress during their pre-oviposition and oviposition periods; “postovi” presents the postoviposition stress group: the prey was exposed to predation stress during the post-oviposition period; and “full” presents the full stress group: the prey was exposed to predation stress during their whole lifespan.
