Antarctic Soils Database

This database contains site and soil descriptions as well as associated soil chemical, physical and mineralogical data for 912 sites in Antarctica. They were collected during 30 excursions between 1964 and 1999 by D.S.I.R. New Zealand Soil Bureau scientists Iain Campbell and Graeme Claridge. New Zealand Lottery Environment and Heritage is acknowledged for providing funds towards a Manaaki Whenua-Landcare Research project called 'Frozen Assets' (2021-2023) which enabled the re-working and making available of this unique dataset.
