A refined transcriptome dataset for the NZ brushtail possum

This is the refined transcriptome as described in a 2019 Data in Brief paper by White, Trought and Hopkins entitled 'The mixed liver and heart transcriptome dataset of the New Zealand brushtail possum, Trichosurus vulpecula'. doi.org/10.1016/j.dib.2019.104577

It was generated from one male brushtail possum, Trichosurus vulpecula, using two tissue types; heart and liver. Raw reads were quality checked and de novo assembled using Trinity v2.8.4, and then open reading frames merged into the longest representative reading frame before screened by gene prediction and protein domain software. It consists of 66,610 transcripts.
