Kōkōuri | Kōkōtea
Māori names can reflect the fruiting season. After the hīnau (or Elaeocarpus dentatus, a tall forest tree) have finished fruiting, male kōkō are called kōkōuri and females kōkōtea in the Mataatua tribal area.
