A spatial layer developed to delineate areas corresponding to the IUCN GET (International Union for Conservation of Nature – Global Ecosystem Typology) forest ecosystem functional group (EFG) Warm Temperate Laurophyll Forests in New Zealand. This layer supported the production of a broad terrestrial current ecosystem map for New Zealand, created by crosswalking the New Zealand Land Cover Database (LCDB) with additional spatial datasets (REFERENCE TO BE PROVIDED WHEN AVAILABLE). The classification of these areas was based on two published resources:Grubb PJ, Bellingham PJ, Kohyama TS, Piper FI, Valido A 2013. Disturbance regimes, gap-demanding trees and seed mass related to tree height in warm temperate rain forests worldwide. Biological Reviews 88(3): 701–744. McGlone MS 1985.
