The data files (.csv) are as follows: 1. Egg size (columns from left to right): id = subject ID, dan = rearing density (Low or High), age = age at oviposition (Young or Old), length = egg length measured in micrometres, breadth = egg breadth measured in micrometres, v = egg volume measured in cubic micrometres, and volume = egg volume in cubic millimetres. 2. Survival data from Experiment 1a (columns from left to right): id, den, and age refer to the previous description, sur = survival (Yes or No; 1 or 0), and ea = duration from egg to adult (day). 3. Prey consumption data from Experiment 1b (columns from left to right): id, den, and age refer to the previous description, con = number of prey eggs consumed, and ea = duration from egg to adult (day). 4. Predation data from Experiment 2 (columns from left to right): id, den, and age refer to the previous description, latency = time taken from start to predation (min), and predation = predation outcome (Yes or No; 1 or 0). 5. Predation data from Experiment 3 (columns from left to right): id, den, and age refer to the previous description, kill = number of dead prey, and predation = number of fully consumed prey.
