Plot level biomass and ecosystem driver data
This datasheet contains plot-level biomass and ecosystem driver data for the 874 LUCAS natural forest plots used in Holdaway et al. (2016) Ecosystems paper
- All biomass estimates are in Mg/ha and biomass change estimates are in units of Mg/ha/yr
- forest.class represents the old-growth forest vs secondary forest split, based on Wiser et al. (2011) vegetation types
- tree diversity = tree species richness
- MAT = mean annual temperature in degrees celsius
- Rainfall = mean annual rainfall (mm)
- Community.leaf.N = community-weighted average leaf N content, weighted by total foliar cover of each species
- recent.dist = "disturbed" for those plots with a decline in basal area and a decline in mean tree size
- past.dist = anthropogenic disturbance prior to the first measurement (1 = yes, 0 = no)
- t1 suffix refers to 2002-2007, and t2 suffix refers to 2009-2014
