Litter Decomposition in Ecosanctuaries

We investigated whether the removal of invasive mammals restores invertebrate-mediated decomposition by measuring decomposition of Mahoe (Melicytus ramiflorus) within three ecosanctuary (Te Tūī a Tāne (the southern exclosure) at Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari, Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne and Orokonui Ecosanctuary – Te Korowai o Mihiwaka) and paired them with non-ecosanctuary sites (Te Tapui Scenic Reserve in the Waikato, Waimapihi Reserve in Wellington, and Wetherston Hill in Dunedin).
